Senior Pasta Technologist (Global)
Location: Hamburg - Germany - Relocation is mandatory
Travel: International (up to 70%)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Pasta Technologist to provide technical expertise and support customers worldwide. This role combines product development, process optimization, customer consulting, and troubleshooting, working closely with commercial and R&D; teams to deliver innovative pasta solutions and drive customer success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customers during product development, trials, commissioning, and production.
- Optimize pasta manufacturing processes for dry, fresh, and specialty pasta products.
- Lead factory trials, troubleshoot production issues, and recommend process improvements.
- Develop new formulations and applications in collaboration with R&D; and commercial teams.
- Deliver technical training to customers, distributors, and internal teams.
- Support global sales by providing technical expertise during customer visits and presentations.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for new products and technologies.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and customer recommendations.
Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8–10+ years of experience in pasta manufacturing, product development, or technical service.
- Strong knowledge of durum wheat, flour functionality, extrusion technology, drying processes, and pasta quality.
- Experience conducting industrial-scale production trials and solving manufacturing challenges.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 70%.
