Commissioning Engineers play a vital role in performing Electrical and PLC software commissioning activities within the allocated cost and time scale constraints of the material-handling project. They also ensure the commissioning activities follow the correct methods and standards to meet the requirements of the customer's project.

Tasks and Qualifications
Main Job Objectives
- Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting or exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
- Commission controls systems on-site, including electrical and PLC software commissioning, and provide support to system test activities and training for the end user.
- Produce commissioning documentation including, but not limited to, commissioning checklists, test specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments for Automated solutions to BS EN ISO 12100.
- Interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
- Ensure systems supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive.
- Commission safety related parts of the controls system solutions to the regulations and in accordance with BS EN ISO 13849/13850/60204 etc.
Qualifications & Experience
- Studies related to Electrical/Controls Engineering.
- Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Good understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA development and commissioning software.
- Hands‑on experience with electrical commissioning.
- Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
- Good understanding of bus systems.
- Understanding of distributed control systems desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of automated warehouse desirable but not essential.
- Ability to travel to customer sites for up to 80% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
- Full driver’s license to support the travel requirements of the role.
- Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering.
Special Conditions
- Role will require 80% travel to customer sites within the EMEA European region including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe in the undertaking of duties.
