/ppHill International is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer ton support the expansion of a major offshore oil and gas complex in Libya.
/ppThe project will be managed from Milan, and the successful candidate will be required to have the right to work in Italy.
/ppAs the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment used in oil and gas facilities.
This includes ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory and company standards across all project phases, from design and construction to commissioning and operations.
/ppRoles and Responsibilities: /ppDesign Engineering /pulliReview and consent to the design electrical power distribution systems (LV, MV, HV) for oil and gas installations.
/liliReview the developed single - line diagrams (SLDs), load lists, cable schedules, grounding and lighting layouts.
/liliReview and approve the selected electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, batteries, and motors.
/liliPerform electrical system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination).
/liliEnsure compliance with industry standards (IEC, NEC, IEEE, API, NEMA, ATEX).
/li /ulpProject Execution Procurement /pulliReview and approve vendor documents and technical specifications.
/liliPrepare Material Requisitions (MRs), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs), and equipment datasheets.
/liliInterface with other engineering disciplines, procurement,
and construction teams to ensure design integration.
/li /ulpConstruction Commissioning /pulliSupervise installation of electrical systems and ensure compliance with approved designs and standards.
/liliConduct inspection, testing, and pre - commissioning of electrical equipment.
/liliParticipate in FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SATs (Site Acceptance Tests).
/liliTroubleshoot issues during installation and commissioning phases.
/li /ulpOperations Maintenance /pulliSupport operations teams in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems.
/liliReview condition monitoring data (e.g., IR thermography, insulation resistance tests).
/liliParticipate in root cause analysis for electrical failures.
/liliEnsure asset integrity and optimize electrical system performance over the asset lifecycle.
/li /ulpQualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: /pulliBachelor's Degree from an accredited university /liliWork experience of five (5) years in the sought discipline after earning the university degree /liliExcellent spoken and written English including proven ability to write reports /liliIn - depth knowledge of electrical design for oil gas environments (onshore/offshore).
/liliFamiliarity with hazardous area classification and equipment selection.
/liliExperience with electrical system modeling software (ETAP, SKM, DigSILENT).
/liliUnderstanding of electrical protection systems, earthing, lighting, and lightning protection.
/liliStrong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
