**Job Description:**Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated **Junior System Engineer** who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks within our Rolling Stock Engineering Department.
The position is based in **Pistoia** or **Napoli** - IT.

****Accountabilities**The main accountabilities include, but are not limited to:* Prepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS)* Define and manage system interfaces (both internal and external)
throughout the entire project lifecycle* Analyze and assess technical documentation from Suppliers* Prepare and verify system installation/integration drawings/specifications* Conduct design reviews (both internal and with suppliers) for the assigned onboard systems, under the supervision of relevant Engineering Managers and Project Engineers* Prepare Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), as well as Functional Test Specifications (FTS) (including performance tests) for the assigned onboard systems* Attend at system stand-alone type test and review of type test reports* Support onboard integration, performance testing and validation phases* Review design documentation with customers and suppliers* Ensure compliance with input requirements, international railway regulations and standards and project constraints (time, cost, quality)* Prepare the documentation required for vehicle approval and support the homologation phase**Required Skills/ Knowledge*** Basic knowledge of system engineering and requirements management disciplines* Basic knowledge of design verification and validation methodologies* Basic knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering disciplines* Good knowledge of office automation software (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, etc.)* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, international and multicultural environment* Good organizational skills, alongside team-working, problem-solving and results-driven mindset* Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders (including suppliers, partners, customers)* Ability to work within project teams under minimal supervision* Availability for occasional short-term national and international business trips**Desired Skills/ Knowledge*** Minimum experience (1-2 years) in the Railway sector or in complex industrial environments* Basic knowledge of the main railway regulations and standards* Basic knowledge of IBM DOORS requirements management tool* Basic knowledge of engineering processes and railway operations* Basic knowledge of RAMS discipline* Basic knowledge of electrical / mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia, etc.)* Fast learner with strong willingness to stay up to date with technological developments* Good business acumen combined with solid technical skills* Good communication and interpersonal skills**Education/Qualifications**Master's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics disciplines preferred).
**Languages**Knowledge of written and spoken English (at least B2 level).
