Junior Application Engineer - Industrial Sales Italy
An Application Engineer with SKF Industrial Sales Italy serves as the technical point of contact for assigned customers and determine the most appropriate product or tailor‑made solution to meet specific customer needs.
After a dedicated onboarding and initial training, as Junior AE you will be mainly responsible for
- Prepare and conduct technical discussions with customers.
- Build strong relationships with customers’ technical and commercial teams, understanding their needs and priorities, and supporting collaboration through expertise and innovation.
- Analyze customer specifications, design and develop engineering proposals, and optimize applications through in-depth studies and SKF calculation tools.
- Work with SKF specialists across key technical areas, especially product engineering and product development.
- Support Sales by preparing the technical content of proposals and aligning customer requirements with SKF strategy and capabilities.
- Coordinate, with the support of senior Application Engineers, the design of complex integrated solutions
- Perform root cause analysis of bearing failures to propose corrective actions and optimize application performance.
- Represent SKF through customer visits, presentations, seminars, and trade fairs.
Required skills
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical experience)
- Good time management skills and ability to deliver effective solutions within tight timelines.
- Effective communication skills; proficiency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
- Ability and interest to work in multifunctional and international teams.
- Customer‑oriented mindset with an ability to guide technical discussions
- Structured and results‑oriented approach.
- Availability to travel (domestic + Europe) with a 25-30% frequency is expected

A tailored development program!
As a Junior Application Engineer, you will take part in an exciting induction plan from the beginning of your journey with us. After an initial period of approximately six months of intensive training within Industrial Sales Italy, you will join a shadowing program consisting of four rotations of one to two weeks each across Manufacturing, Product Line, Product Development, and Customer Experience and/or Sales areas at SKF Italy.
Our offer
For this position, the starting point of the salary range is a gross annual salary (base salary) of €32.000,00. The compensation package also includes company performance-related bonuses. The National Labor Contract applied is "CCNL Industria Metalmeccanica e installazione impianti". A hybrid working model, according to the SKF Country policies, is applied.

This position will be based in Airasca. Local contract.
The role reports to the Application Engineering Manager, that is located in Italy, Airasca.
