RINA is seeking a freelance/independent Principal Electrical & Power (E&P;) Engineer to provide technical leadership, systems integration, engineering assurance and governance across railway modernisation, electrification, signalling, telecommunications, fleet and infrastructure programmes in Ireland.
The assignment is expected to run for a period of up to 24 months and will be delivered through a blended working model, comprising approximately 50% attendance in Ireland and 50% remote working, according to programme requirements.
The role provides specialist advice and assurance for traction power, HV/LV distribution, electrification, substations, station electrical systems and associated infrastructure, supporting design reviews, compliance assessments, technical governance and delivery in line with applicable standards.
Key Requirements:
Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, with at least 10 years’ railway electrical and power systems experience.
Experience designing, reviewing or assuring traction power, HV/LV distribution, electrification, substations,
station electrical systems and related infrastructure, including 650V applications.
Strong knowledge of railway electrical standards, power integration, electrical safety and engineering governance.
Ability to provide design reviews, compliance assessments, technical advice, specifications, engineering reports and construction support across multiple projects.
Experience in multidisciplinary railway and investment programme environments, with strong stakeholder management, technical leadership and problem-solving skills. #LI-FC1
