In this role you will design mechanical solutions for satellite systems, collaborating with system, electrical, thermal, and structural engineers to define requirements and enable reliable space hardware. You will create 3D and 2D drawings for space equipment, support fast prototyping, and manage components and documentation. The position offers hands-on design work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment focused on performance and reliability. - Collaborate with system engineers to define mechanical design requirements
- Coordinate with electrical/electronic teams to derive mechanical inputs
- Work with thermal and structural engineers to integrate complex systems
- Create 3D designs for space equipment
- Produce 2D manufacturing, assembly drawings and ICDs, plus project documentation
- Optimize mechanical designs for performance and reliability
- Conduct fast-prototypes for rapid validation
- Specify, select, and procure components for mechanical designs




- Manage part lists and libraries including standard components
- Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design of mechanical/structural systems (space experience a plus)
- Proficiency in 3D and 2D modelling; NX experience is a plus
- Experience with NX PCB Exchange design is a plus
- Understanding of materials (metallic/composite), coatings, and xysqume adhesives
- Experience gathering technical requirements and developing specifications and documentation
- Experience interacting with customers, subcontractors and suppliers
- System-oriented thinking and awareness of cost and schedule impacts
