Works Supervisor

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Works Supervisor / Direttore dei Lavori (DL) to join a major data centre construction project in Milan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise construction works to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, programme and contract requirements.
- Coordinate with the H&S Project Supervisor and H&S Coordinators.
- Monitor project progress, programme and construction activities.
- Oversee quality control, inspections, testing, materials and specialist certifications.
- Review contractor and subcontractor progress, quantities and payment applications.
- Maintain accurate site records, reports and works accounting documentation.
- Monitor compliance with applicable legislation, permits, building regulations and approved designs.
- Identify issues affecting quality, programme or delivery and implement corrective actions.
- Support the Client with permits, certifications and project requirements.
- Manage authorised project variations and variation estimates.
- Issue service orders and respond to contractor claims.
- Attend site regularly and document inspections and progress.
- Support testing, completion and certification of the works.
- Order work interruptions or suspensions where required under applicable legislation or contract.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Direttore dei Lavori / Works Supervisor on major construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of Italian construction legislation and regulations.
- Experience supervising contractors and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction quality, programme and cost control.
- Experience with project documentation, inspections, testing and certifications.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Relevant construction, engineering or technical qualification.
- Fluent Italian and good English.
- Data centre, mission-critical or large-scale construction experience highly desirable.
