Exide is seeking a Production Supervisor to join its manufacturing team and support daily operations within the production department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient production process, meeting quality, safety, cost, and delivery targets. This role is a key link between the Production Manager and the shopfloor workforce, driving operational excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, and employee engagement while guaranteeing compliance with company standards and procedures.
Main Tasks
- Supervise and coordinate production operators during shifts, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Plan and organize daily, weekly, and monthly production activities to ensure customer requirements and production targets are achieved.
- Monitor production KPIs and analyze performance data to identify improvement opportunities and drive corrective actions.
- Ensure the availability and accuracy of raw materials in production and coordinate raw material orders when required.
- Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient production processes and prompt resolution of operational issues.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, Lean Manufacturing activities, and 5S implementation within the production area.
- Participate in production-related projects, equipment improvements,
and investment activities aimed at increasing efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with EHS policies and promote a strong safety culture within the production team.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive and corrective actions to improve operational performance.
- Monitor scrap levels, lead variance, production efficiency, and other operational metrics through regular reporting activities.
- Participate in physical inventories and support stock accuracy initiatives.
- Contribute to maintaining the highest level of product quality and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or any technical field
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within automotive or high-volume production industries.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, industrial equipment, and manufacturing operations.
- Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel; familiarity with ERP and manufacturing systems is considered an advantage.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis methodologies.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic production environment.
- Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact across different organizational levels.
