Exide is looking for a Buyer to manage the purchase of a range of services and indirect products used at the Romano di Lombardia site. Focus will be on general services, maintenance activities and CAPEX contracting, supporting other indirect spending activities and group reporting.
Main tasks:
- Execution of the daily activities and development of the sourcing strategies in the relevant commodities;
- Work efficiently with all key stakeholders in managing routine supply issues as well as in the development and execution of the sourcing solutions.
- Evaluate Make or Buy, Rent or Buy, Outsourcing options.
- Identify and drive cost reduction and efficiency improvements affecting the managed commodities.
- Manage the purchase order and contracting process ensuring timely execution of purchase orders and securing on-time delivery.
- Support the development of the annual purchasing budget of the managed commodities and report on the performance to budget throughout the year.
- Ensure that supplier performance is maintained at the required levels;
initiate supplier development programs or resourcing where required
- Review the existing purchase to payables solution affecting the managed commodities and work with the affected stakeholders and suppliers to identify and implement efficiency and streamlined solutions;
- Play an active role in supporting pan European / cross site sourcing initiatives and reporting, working effectively with the wider purchasing team and other functions.
- Support the site purchasing manager, commodity managers and others in the development and execution of sourcing strategies affecting the site and provide continuous communication on implementation and compliance to supply agreements;
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO, Health and Safety compliance, Divisional and corporate purchasing policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Up to 5 years’ experience in mechanical/manufacturing environment as buyer, managing indirect spending preferably with experience in the general services category
- Degree in Economics, Engineering or similar: a different education level will be taken into consideration, if combined with strong experience and/or growing potential;
- Familiar with MS Suite and knowledge of ERP solutions. Proactive attitude to use all available AI tools;
- English spoken and written (B1);
- Effective communicator and good team player. xysqume
