Role Description This full-time Senior Mechanical Engineer role at Schlatter Italia S.r.l. is based in Udine and follows a hybrid work model, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility.

The Senior Mechanical

Engineer will lead the design and development of mechanical components and machinery, including concept creation, detailed design, and optimisation for performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Day-to-day activities include preparing and reviewing technical drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams (production, electrical, automation, and quality), and managing engineering tasks across the project lifecycle. Supporting prototype build and testing, resolving technical issues, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and external suppliers.

Engineer will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with relevant standards, and support documentation and reporting for projects and design changes.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to complex machinery and industrial systems.
- Proficiency in Machine Design,



including component selection, materials, tolerances, and mechanical system integration.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, drafting, and design revisions.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, risk assessment, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D;), including concept validation, prototype testing, and performance improvement.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Ability to interpret technical standards and specifications and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in hybrid teams and interface with suppliers and customers.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Italian and experience in industrial machinery or automation environments are advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to mentor less-experienced team members.
