We are looking for a Scientific Projects Exploitation professional to join our team, supporting our client, the European Space Agency (ESA) at ESRIN in Frascati, Italy.

Duties and responsibilities

- Support the management of ESA EO projects (review of deliverables, issue RIDS, coordinate feedback.....) with a focus on oceanography and glaciology.
- Support the production of new technical/scientific materials (presentations, flyers, training material....) or datasets as requested by the Agency.
- Demonstrate and present tools or results as requested by the Agency.
- Contribute to the organisation of scientific workshops or training events or Webinars and hackathons.
- Support testing of toolboxes, platforms or technical deliverables provided by the Industry supporting ESA.
- Contribute to International Initiatives in support to the Agency.

Skills and attributes

- The specialist will work in a team of multilingual experts.
- The candidate must be fluent in English.

Additional

European languages are an asset.

- The successful applicant will hold a university degree in Physics, Remote Sensing or similar.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of satellite remote sensing (in particular satellite altimetry), image processing and analysis,



geomatics and GIS technology, applications and programming. In particular, experience in EO data processing and applications exploiting modern technologies (cloud computing, big data, AI…), and some teaching and/or communication experience are sought.

Knowledge and experience

- PhD in a topic relevant to satellite Earth Observation or MSC.
- At least 3 years of experience in the space observations domain.
- Experience in multi-source data integration.
- Experience in scientific and application project management.
- Good communication and documentation writing skills.
- Experience in data Science and tools (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Matlab, C++).
- Ability to manage several tasks in parallel and to prioritise.
- Capability to work in a team.
- Pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of additional languages (e.g. Italian, Spanish, French...) is an asset.
