Manutan Italy, part of the Manutan Group, a leading European B2B distributor generating more than €1 billion in annual revenue, is looking for a Local Purchaser to strengthen our local sourcing capabilities and support the development of strategic supplier partnerships in the Italian market.

This is a key role combining supplier scouting, strategic sourcing, commercial negotiation and cross-functional collaboration, with direct impact on business competitiveness, quotation success rates and future growth projects.

What you will do

- Support the Quotations team in large business opportunities by sourcing suitable suppliers, negotiating competitive commercial conditions and ensuring quotation requests are submitted to multiple qualified suppliers, enabling effective supplier comparison and the best sourcing decisions
- Lead supplier negotiations for high-value quotations, balancing price, quality, lead times and customer expectations, while contributing to increased competitiveness, improved quotation win rates and long-term supplier relationships through regular calls, meetings and on-site visits
- Identify, evaluate and onboard new local suppliers when gaps or opportunities are identified within the existing supplier network, developing sourcing alternatives that strengthen our offering and better address customer needs
- Support potential future local warehousing projects in Italy by contributing to sourcing and supplier-related activities, should such initiatives be developed
- Collaborate with Group Purchasing teams and assess opportunities to progressively take ownership of strategic Italian suppliers currently managed at Group level
- Work closely with Sales, Quotations, Category Management and international Procurement teams to support business growth,

sourcing excellence and customer satisfaction

Who we are looking for

- Previous experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Supplier Development. Experience in Category Management is nice to have
- Strong negotiation and commercial relationship management skills
- Proven ability to identify, evaluate and develop supplier partnerships
- Results-oriented mindset with the ability to balance customer needs, business objectives and supplier capabilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive approach, curiosity and the confidence to challenge existing sourcing practices, established supplier relationships and the status quo when better opportunities can be identified
- Fluent English, with the ability to confidently participate in meetings, negotiations and daily interactions within an international environment
- Knowledge of Excel
- Experience in B2B distribution, industrial supplies or multi-category environments is an advantage

Reporting line

- Hierarchical reporting to the Group Purchasing organization
- Functional reporting to the Italy and Switzerland Sales Director

Location

Location: Cinisello Balsamo.

This role combines office-based activities with regular travel across Italy. We expect the successful candidate to spend approximately 1-2 days per week visiting suppliers and developing relationships in the field.

Selection process The selection process will consist of:

1. An initial Microsoft Teams interview with the Italian team
2. A second in-person interview at our offices in Cinisello Balsamo
3. A final interview via Microsoft Teams with Group stakeholders, conducted in English
