Overview

As Lead Embedded Software Engineer, you will guide a high-performing Linux-based embedded team to design and deliver next-generation products. You balance hands-on technical contribution with people leadership to ensure architectural excellence, quality, and timely execution. You will work cross-functionally with hardware, system engineering, QA, and product management to drive impactful solutions.

Responsabilità

- Lead and mentor an embedded software team to foster collaboration and continuous improvement
- Drive technical strategy and architecture for Linux-based embedded platforms
- Plan and coordinate development activities to align with goals, timelines, and quality
- Contribute hands-on to design, development, and debugging of complex embedded software
- Enforce best practices in coding, reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, QA, and product management
- Manage technical risks, support root cause analysis, and resolve problems

- Monitor and improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability

Requisiti fondamentali

- Master in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electronics
- Fluent in Italian and English
- 5+ years of embedded software experience
- Strong Linux embedded systems knowledge (kernel, drivers, system internals)
- Proficient in C/C++
- Solid experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or similar build systems
- Experience with debugging tools (gdb, strace, perf)
- Familiarity with SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet
- Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows
- Good understanding of performance optimization under resource constraints
- Proven experience leading software development teams
- Ability to work in cross-functional, international environments
