You'll be the key delivery contact point for clients, leading talented technical and project governance teams globally, owning senior stakeholder and Account Manager relationships, and taking end-to-end oversight of programmes that span offices, time zones and hemispheres - from Build through to Run and hand-over.

Responsibilities

Programme and portfolio delivery leadership

- Programme-manage large and strategically important initiatives across the Digital Pillar.
- Ensure delivery excellence across all accounts in your portfolio, overseeing project/programme delivery consistency, quality, and adherence to SLAs.
- Own and analyse project delivery health, including ongoing project budget and workforce costs/GM, controlling scope and progress to ensure delivery on time, within scope and within budget.
- Structure projects so they can respond to changing demands and needs at pace and seamlessly.
- Bring structure to ambiguity, and proactively address roadblocks to keep progress and delivery on track.
- Sign off on team plans and confirm that delivery schedules for each project can realistically be met.
- Ensure regular Build review meetings are held to monitor progress and support any deviation from plan.
- Provide visibility on capacity, resource planning and prioritisation across accounts.

Governance, reporting and stakeholder communication

- Ensure internal senior stakeholders are updated on project progress and consulted on key decisions.
- Ensure project governance guarantees clear, effective communication and knowledge sharing despite the complexity and scale of the programme.
- Enable communication across product teams, stakeholders, and delivery teams through internal tools for knowledge sharing, document retention, and governance.
- Build credibility, establish rapport, and maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders at multiple levels, including tech, product, design, and insights.
- Provide weekly reporting on progress across your portfolio of projects, highlighting key milestones and risks.
- Ensure Delivery Leadership (SVP of Delivery) and other designated senior stakeholders are kept informed on all significant risks, particularly those affecting GM.
- Ensure project teams are following PM best practices and reporting standards.
- Ensure project goals remain aligned with the company's strategic objectives.

Escalation, risk and incident management

- Act as the escalation path for client concerns.

- Act as the escalation point for major delivery risks and issues; proactively orchestrate incidents and be actively involved in incident management with the client.
- Escalate to Delivery Leadership (SVP of Delivery) where there are conflicting priorities for the Engineering team across different clients.
- Support Project Managers in resolving escalations that sit beyond their scope.

Team leadership and development

- Lead, coach, and mentor a growing multi-disciplined team globally.
- Act as line manager for Project Managers and related project leadership roles, supporting them in resolving escalations beyond their scope.
- Coach managers in your team in effective line management.
- Help develop a stronger Programme Management discipline across the Digital Pillar, including training and development opportunities such as workshops and internal conferences.

Client and commercial ownership

- Manage senior client relationships, driving a strategic outlook while ensuring day-to-day matters are managed effectively through the project team.
- Co-responsible for account growth, working closely with Account Managers and the Commercial and Technical teams to maximise up-sell, cross-sell and renewal opportunities throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Align with Account Managers on account strategies, ensuring delivery feasibility and appropriate resourcing.
- Partner with Account Managers to prepare joint account reviews and client steering meetings.
- Work with business unit leadership to influence the technical and strategic direction of the project in a way that maximises positive outcomes for Deltatre and the client.
- Sign off on and manage closure of the Build phase with the client.
- Ensure a Build phase retrospective takes place, feeding learnings back into Solutions/Engineering Leadership to inform future bids.
- Manage hand-over as necessary to the Run phase and/or B2B Support & LiveOps.

Requirements

You have done this before - here's what we're looking for.

Required

- 5+ years' Project/Programme Management experience in a fast-paced, tech-focused environment, including large-scale, multi-year, complex projects and their associated budgets.
- Agile experience.
- Excellent management and coaching skills.
- Strong senior stakeholder management skills, including experience partnering with Account Management/Sales functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organisation.
- Track record of driving results through ambiguity in a large, complex organisation with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of technology, process, risk, and controls,

including commercial/GM awareness.
- Experience working in an international organisation, ideally with multi-country remote teams.
- Experience managing capacity, resourcing and prioritisation across a portfolio of concurrent projects or accounts.
- Experience with incident management and client-facing escalation handling.
- Ability to influence, build trust and credibility, and motivate cross-functional teams and collaborators without formal authority.
- Comfortable balancing multiple concurrent projects in a scaled agile, fast-paced, international environment.
- Able to travel regularly.

Valued

- Experience representing and running large, cross-functional software projects, and communicating strategy, goals, and progress to varied audiences.
- Experience within the digital and sports industry.
- Comfortable collaborating with engineering, product, design, data science, and research teams, as well as individual contributors, C-suite, and vendors.
A hands-on willingness to personally help solve problems that move the programme forward.

Who Thrives Here

This role carries end-to-end oversight of a portfolio of programmes and accounts that don't sit neatly in one office or one time zone - you're expected to triage, prioritise, and lead cross-functional teams in real time, often across hemispheres. It suits someone who is self-motivated, independent, and comfortable being the person who keeps every player coordinated, without needing to be asked.

People who do well here bring structure to ambiguity rather than waiting for it to resolve itself, build trust with stakeholders from individual contributors to C-suite and Account Managers, own escalations and incidents as they arise, and stay resilient when the pace and scale of a multi-year, multi-country, multi-account portfolio gets genuinely difficult.

Process and what to expect

Salary starts from €70,000 rising to €90,000 for those with significant relevant experience. Where you land depends on the experience and expertise you bring.

If your expectations sit outside the range, tell us anyway —we're happy to have an open conversation. Internal progression is assessed through a structured process combining a technical assessment and a competency-based interview. The role falls under CCNL Commercio| D.Lgs. 96/2026.

Interview stages

- Introductory conversation: a step for us to get to know each other better, and for us to answer all questions you might have around Deltatre.
- 1-hour Technical round of Interview: we will deep dive on your experience and explore your delivery background in details.
- 1-hour Competency Based Interview: we will ask you situational questions around how you deal with real-life scenarios at work. Easier doing it, more than explaining it.

If any of these formats would be difficult for you, tell us - we adjust regularly and can usually accommodate.

Accessibility and accommodation questions are welcome at any stage. Tell us what would work for you.
