Job Description
R&D; Test Engineer performing as a technical expert in the design, development and maintenance of automated testing solutions to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our products.
The R&D; Test Engineer combines strong software development expertise with quality engineering practices and requires working closely with Developers, Product Managers/PMO, DevOps engineers, and QA teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business and technical requirements to define comprehensive test strategies. Ensure software meets quality, reliability, usability, and performance requirements;
- Design, develop and maintain automated test infrastructure/frameworks that improve productivity and quality. Improve test coverage through automation of functional, integration, regression and end-to-end test.
- Apply software engineering best practices, including coding standards, version control, and design patterns. Contribute to improving application testability and maintainability.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. Support continuous integration and continuous testing initiatives. Improve release readiness through quality gates and automated validation processes.
- Collaborate in design, code reviews and inspections to ensure the testability of code and adherence to coding standards that facilitate automated testing.
- Create and maintain documentation related to automated test cases, test plans, and test results to support knowledge sharing and transparency.
Requirements & Specific Skills:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Languages: Italian, English fluent
Experience: Around 1 to 3 years of experience in software automation testing, or software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Skills preferred:
- Experience with API testing, Java, Python, PlayWright, TypeScript, etc.,
- Experience in Linux, Git, JFrog, and/or CI/CD
- Knowledge of using AI-assisted coding and testing tools
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with electronics or industrial protocols is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and AI testing methodologies
- Planning and time management.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual Base Salary (RAL): €38,000–€45,000
- Variable compensation
