Posizione:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to own, maintain, and continuously improve the established manufacturing process system for oil-immersed distribution transformers up to 10 MVA, 72.5 kV. The role ensures that work instructions, process parameters, and quality controls remain current based on production performance, quality/test feedback, engineering changes, materials, and installed equipment, while providing expert technical support to Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance.
Mandatory Gate Criterion: Direct hands-on experience working for a transformer manufacturer is mandatory. Candidates without proven transformer manufacturing experience will not be considered; generic mechanical, electrical equipment, or process engineering experience alone is insufficient.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Process ownership and change control: Maintain and update Process Flows, Manufacturing Routings, Work Instructions/process sheets, Machine Setup Sheets, critical parameters, control points, acceptance criteria, and Control Plans. Implement controlled revisions based on production feedback, quality/test results, engineering, material or equipment changes, and lessons learned.
- Technical support and problem solving: Provide hands-on support to Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance; troubleshoot manufacturing issues, perform root-cause analysis, distinguish design, material, equipment, and process causes, and define corrective/preventive actions.
- Winding, insulation,
and drying expertise: Provide expert support for LV foil and HV/MV layer winding, machine/mandrel setup, conductor and insulation tension, winding speed and alignment, insulation handling, moisture control, and drying/vacuum cycles; adjust process parameters when production evidence requires improvement.
- Active part, tanking, and oil processing expertise: Support active part assembly, clamping, electrical connections and clearances, tanking, vacuum/leak control, oil filtration/dehydration/degassing, vacuum oil filling, impregnation, sealing, and final assembly requirements including torque, gaskets, and inspection criteria.
- Tooling, jigs, and fixtures: Define, design, or coordinate production tooling, mandrels, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and positioning/lifting aids required to ensure repeatability, product quality, ergonomics, and safe execution of manufacturing operations.
- Continuous improvement and training: Use defects, rework, NCRs, test findings, and operator feedback to improve First Time Right, repeatability, equipment utilization, and lead time; update training materials and operator qualifications after process changes.
Requisiti:
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
- Experience: Direct hands-on experience in a transformer manufacturing company is mandatory. 5+ years in transformer manufacturing/process engineering is preferred; distribution transformer experience is strongly preferred.
- Technical expertise:
Deep practical knowledge of LV foil and HV/MV layer winding, transformer insulation and drying, active part assembly, vacuum systems, oil treatment/vacuum filling, final assembly, and the related production equipment.
- Process, quality, and tooling capability: Proven ability to maintain and improve established processes, manage controlled changes, define critical-to-quality parameters, analyze manufacturing/quality problems, implement effective process corrections, and develop or specify practical jigs and fixtures.
- Professional skills and English: Strong shop-floor engineering mindset, independent problem solving, and effective collaboration with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance. Working English is mandatory for technical documentation, reports, discussions, and supplier communication.
- Knowledge of Italian is mandatory, with a minimum B1 level required.
