ph3Cable Technician B /h3 pSalary: €33.18 - 37.73 hourly /p pAzienda: Mit Media Lab Tipo Lavoro: Tempo pieno Italy /p h3Descrizione Lavoro - Cable Technician B /h3 pThe Fabrication Engineering Group provides rapid fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of advanced hardware prototypes for national security applications. Examples include the precision machining fiber mounts for airborne high-energy laser systems, multi-functional structures using additive processes for ground-based radar systems, custom printed circuit boards (PCBs) for space-borne data processing, and highly integrated mechanical packaging for undersea communication terminals. Core mechanical competencies span precision fabrication, additive manufacturing, and 5-axis machining. The group concentrates on high-complexity parts, quick-turn capabilities, and activities that require concurrent engineering with program teams. Core PCB capabilities include design for manufacturability (DFM), automated solder paste dispensers, precise pick-n-place machines, and automated optical inspection systems. Assembly, integration, and test capabilities include integration spaces, clean rooms, vibration testing, thermal testing, and space simulation chambers. The Group focuses on state-of-the-art prototyping capabilities, technical excellence, exceptional collaboration, and outstanding operation. /p h3Job Description /h3 pThe Group seeks to hire a talented, creative, and motivated individual. The technician has a critical role in the fabrication process and ultimate delivery of the prototype systems through assembly of the electrical subcomponents. An individual who assists in laboratory or research work and operates experimental and technical equipment under the supervision of scientific personnel or technicians of higher grade. Must be able to work for periods of time without supervision.



/p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liMechanical/electrical assembly of printed circuit board assemblies /li liAssist in higher level technicians in assembling chassis, cable, and PCB assemblies /li liBuild wire harnessing of all configurations /li liSolder and de-solder through hole and SMT components /li liCut, strip, crimp, solder, and terminate wire and connector with precision. /li liLight to moderate lifting with a maximum 25 lbs /li liFiber splicing /li /ul h3Requirements /h3 ul liGraduation from a two-year technical school or its equivalent. /li liAbility to work in a team environment /li liRecognized self-motivator that seeks to continuously learn and challenge themselves /li liComputer literacy, proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word /li liAn excitement for fabricating complex parts that enable program teams to develop prototype systems that demonstrate technology of national importance /li liKnowledge of electronic color code /li liAbility to read schematics, assembly drawings, and mechanical drawings is a preferred, but not required /li liMust pass required in-house training certifications /li liA desire to develop advanced fabrication skills like wire bonding, flip chip technologies, direct die attach, selective soldering, fiber splicing /li liGeneral knowledge of electronics including mechanical and electrical assembly of printed circuit board assemblies and wire bonding /li liMinimum of 3 years of experience in PCB assembly, rework, and repair, with proficiency in soldering and handling electronic components. /li /ul pHiring Range:$33.18 - $37.73 /p pbDisclaimer:
