About The Role
Well D Italia is looking for a Backend developer to join its dev team. In this role, you will work on a mission-critical project for a global leader in the FMCG industry headquartered in Alba. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the client's international success and the quality of software solutions used at an enterprise scale.
You will have the opportunity to actively shape how these digital tools deliver real-world value, ensuring excellence in a high-stakes, prestigious environment. Where we are While our home base is in Milan's Isola/Garibaldi district, this is a hybrid position that currently involves working from the client's Alba headquarters 3 to 4 days a week. On-site requirements may scale back over time depending on project needs.

How We Conceive Software Dev We promote Agile Development with a formal process including Code Reviews, Pair Programming, and Continuous Delivery. We care about software quality, and have a proper methodology / pipeline to assure it is always achieved. We do not just-code-it, we design it. We believe in Open Source, and take every chance we get to get involved by sharing knowledge on our Tech Blog or contribute to OSS. What Tech We Use Our tech stack features Java on the backend and Angular on the frontend, leveraging Git, Git Lab, and Docker.
For this specific role, we are looking for someone with a strong command of Java and the JVM ecosystem. Experience with relational databases (Oracle, Postgre SQL) and frontend development (Angular) is a strong plus.
What You'll Do
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Developing scalable backend solutions using Java and ensuring their seamless integration with frontend technologies. Implementing and managing Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment using Docker. Participating in code reviews, pair programming sessions, and knowledge sharing activities to maintain high software quality standards. Sharing your expertise through our Tech Blog and community events.
What We're Looking For
Solid understanding of the Java ecosystem and experience in backend development. Familiarity with Dev Ops practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment. Familiarity with frontend technologies such as Angular or similar frameworks. Proactive problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset. Continuous desire to learn and improve in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in Italian and English. (Angular) is a strong plus.
