At EnerSys, we don't just build batteries ; we power the systems behind the global energy transition.
As electrification accelerates across industries, we are scaling next-generation energy storage and IoT platforms used worldwide.
We are looking for a Lead IoT Software Engineer ready to build, lead, and shape what comes next.
If you enjoy working at the intersection of embedded systems, cloud, and real-world impact: this role is for you.
- Be part of the global shift toward sustainable energy
- Work on real-world industrial IoT systems, not just prototypes
- Collaborate across international teams with global visibility
- Take ownership of systems that matter - from embedded devices to cloud platforms
The impact you will make
You will play a critical role in designing and delivering the software powering next-generation energy storage systems.
From embedded Linux devices to cloud-connected APIs, your work will ensure that our IoT platforms are secure, scalable, and ready for global deployment.
What you will do
- Lead a team of software engineers through Agile sprint cycles
- Design and develop embedded software (C/C++/Python) on Linux (ARM)
- Build and integrate APIs, backend services, and IoT cloud solutions
What will help you succeed
We're looking for experienced engineers who:
- Have a strong background in IoT or embedded software engineering
- Understand distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native architectures
- Are comfortable working across embedded + backend environments
- Can translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions
- Bring a hands-on mindset with leadership capability
- Thrive in Agile and international environments
Nice to have:
- Embedded Linux (Yocto), Docker, Azure IoT
- Hardware interfaces (CAN, SPI, I2C, RS485)
- Experience in energy systems or industrial IoT
Why this role is exciting
- You'll work at the intersection of hardware, software, and cloud
- Your code will power critical infrastructure in the energy transition
- You'll have real ownership, not just implementation tasks
- You'll influence how systems are designed - not just built
What we offer
- Flexible working model (remote, with occasional travel to our sites in France or Italy, or hybrid working options available)
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge IoT platforms with global impact
- Strong learning culture: courses, conferences, and development support
- International collaboration with talented engineering teams
- High ownership and autonomy in technical decisions
Diversity & Inclusion
At EnerSys, we believe diverse teams build better solutions. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
