The position can be performed mainly remotely, with periodic visits to Milan.brReporting line : Country ManagerbrObjectivebrThe Development Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing the overall development strategy for utility-scale BESS solar projects nationwide.
The role involves overseeing and accelerating the development of renewable energy projects, managing internal and external stakeholders, and achieving project objectives within established timelines and budgets.brThe position requires leadership skills in team management, strategic planning, stakeholder coordination, and regulatory compliance.
The Development Manager will work closely with senior management to ensure alignment of the country's development strategy with corporate objectives.brMain ResponsibilitiesbrStrategic Leadership and DevelopmentbrCollaborate closely with senior management to define and implement the development strategy for utility-scale projects.brDefine and manage the development roadmap, identifying new business opportunities in line with corporate goals.brGuide and develop the country's development strategy,
ensuring alignment with the Group's vision and objectives.brBudget and Financial SupervisionbrDefine development budgets and closely monitor project costs.brImplement budget control processes to ensure the financial efficiency of projects.brParticipate in the preparation of monthly management reporting and provide financial performance analyses.brStakeholder Management and RepresentationbrRepresent the company in relations with key stakeholders, including local authorities, landowners, financial partners, and regulatory bodies.brLead negotiations and coordinate contracts regarding land acquisition and securing, feasibility studies, environmental studies, building permits, and participation in tenders and bids.brEnsure effective and collaborative relationships with municipal administrations, associations, and local communities for current and future projects.brProject Development and PermittingbrOversee feasibility studies and manage the permitting process for new projects.brManage development project timelines, providing regular updates to senior management on progress and expected timelines for reaching Ready to Build (RTB) status.brEnsure compliance with all regulatory requirements regarding land use and project permitting.brCompetitive Advantage and Market AnalysisbrStay up to date on market developments, competitor activities, and technological innovations,
with a specific focus on areas such as agrivoltaics.brPerform competitive and regulatory intelligence to support the definition of project strategies and identify potential growth opportunities.brPromote innovation in project development to strengthen the company's competitive advantage in the renewable energy market.brReporting and MonitoringbrProvide periodic reports to senior management on project progress, highlighting risks, critical issues, and opportunities.brEnsure alignment with corporate strategic goals and monitor the development pipeline progress.brFinancial and Project SupportbrSupport the preparation of financing dossiers and ensure proper management of the project pipeline, from development phase to commissioning.brCollaborate with internal teams and external partners to support securing finance and ensure effective project execution until commissioning.brRequirements and SkillsbrProven experience of at least 5 years in project development within the energy sector, specifically in utility-scale BESS photovoltaic projects.brSolid experience in team work and leadership, with a strong focus on performance optimization.brExperience in project budget management, financial supervision, and cost control.brStrong knowledge of the local regulatory framework and administrative processes related to land use and environmental permitting.brExcellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.brAbility to lead large-scale projects from feasibility phase to permitting completion, ensuring adherence to milestones and scheduled timelines.brStrong analytical skills and ability to conduct market analysis.
