About the role:
- Hold end-to-end ownership of payroll across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Austria and Switzerland, acting as the final escalation point for payroll failures, compliance risks and regulatory issues. Depending on experience, the scope may also include Bulgaria.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time and in full compliance with local labour law, payroll tax and statutory requirements every cycle.
- Oversee payroll onboarding of new hires, ensuring complete and accurate set-up in Deel ahead of the first pay run.
- Oversee statutory registrations and de-registrations with tax, social security and other authorities for new hires, leavers and job changes in each country in scope.
- Ensure employment changes (contract amendments, transfers, salary changes, terminations) are reflected accurately and on time in Deel and related systems.
- Coordinate with HR Operations and Deel to keep employee payroll data complete, consistent and compliant across HR and payroll systems.
- Bring payroll operations with our newly implemented global payroll provider Deel to a stable state across all countries in scope; complete any remaining country migrations.
- Refine and fine-tune payroll processes, calendars, controls and hand-offs between HR, Finance and Deel to improve accuracy, efficiency and consistency.
