Business Intelligence Specialist
Duties / Responsibilities What you'll be doing:
Semantic modelling: design of Power BI data models (star schemas, hierarchies, DAX measures, granularity management) optimised for performance and reusability, rather than for individual reports;
Report and dashboard development: end-to-end development of Power BI and SAP BusinessObjects reports (Web Intelligence, IDT/UDT universes), from requirements gathering to production deployment;
Migration to the new stack: analysis of the existing BusinessObjects reporting portfolio, rationalisation and definition of the transition path to Fabric / Power BI;
Contribution to architecture: supporting the data team in defining data models, consumption layers and the management of shared datasets (semantic model, data flow, Fabric lakehouse);
Best practices and standards: defining and disseminating guidelines on naming conventions, versioning, report lifecycles,



environment management (dev / test / prod), deployment pipelines and workspace strategy;
Quality and performance: optimising queries and models, monitoring refresh times, and tracking actual report usage;
Data governance and security: managing row-level security, user profiling, and ensuring consistency in KPI definitions across different business areas;
Documentation: maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical and functional documentation, rather than documentation produced retrospectively;
Business partnering: direct dialogue with Finance, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain and Quality to translate business needs into sustainable analytical solutions;
Enablement: support and training for key users, promoting the correct and independent use of self-service BI tools.
