Putting communities at the heart of our research, we develop tests, treatments, cures and prevention strategies that have the greatest chance of success. /ph3Details of the role /h3pThe Research Fellow (Biostatistician) is responsible for the design, documentation, analysis and reporting of linked and surveillance health data research conducted by The Kirby Institute. The position holder’s primary obligation is the statistical analysis of national linked health and social and surveillance datasets in collaboration with investigators and stakeholders. /ppJoin a world-leading research environment where your statistical expertise will contribute to advancing population health outcomes and addressing some of the most significant public health challenges. In this role, you will work with large-scale linked, surveillance and administrative datasets to generate meaningful evidence that informs research, policy and practice. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams,



investigators and key stakeholders, you will apply advanced analytical methods, contribute to high-quality publications and reports, and present findings to diverse audiences. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career researcher to strengthen their research profile, contribute to impactful health research, and support the development of innovative data-driven solutions that improve the lives of communities both in Australia and globally. /ppThe role of Research Fellow (Biostatistician) sits within the SERP team and has no direct reports. /ph3Some Key Skills Required /h3ulliA PhD in a related discipline and/or relevant work experience /liliHigh level skills in relevant statistical packages including STATA, R, SAS, PySpark and Python /liliPrevious experience in the management and analysis of linked health data, the production of statistical analysis plans and the use of GitHub /liliDemonstrated ability to undertake high‑quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision /liliDemonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity /liliDevelop and execute advanced data management and statistical analysis methods on large scale surveillance,
