The Finance Associate role supports the unit's financial operations, budget monitoring, accounting, and reporting in alignment with IOM policies.

Job purpose:
The Finance Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the unit under the supervision of the Resource Management Officer and Specialist. This position is accountable for ensuring the smooth execution of financial activities, including budget monitoring, accurate accounting processes, and timely financial reporting, all in strict adherence to IOM's established policies and procedures.



The role contributes to the overall financial integrity and efficiency of the organization, enabling IOM to effectively manage its resources and deliver on its mandate of promoting humane and orderly migration worldwide. By maintaining robust financial systems, the associate supports IOM's mission to assist governments and migrants.

Responsibilities:
The Finance Associate is responsible for assisting in the management of financial resources, including monitoring and controlling assets and funds in accordance with IOM regulations. This includes supporting the preparation of annual budget submissions, estimating costs, and inputting financial data into accounting systems. The role involves preparing and reconciling bank, cash, vendor, and general ledger accounts, investigating discrepancies, and verifying vendor claims and payments for accuracy and compliance.
