Organizational context: The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger by investing in rural people. The Department for Country Operations (DCO) oversees the origination, design and management of IFAD investments and non-lending activities. The position is in the DCO Front Office, supporting the Associate Vice-President.
Job purpose: To manage the front office, coordinate the administrative support team, and ensure efficient office management and budget coordination within the Department for Country Operations (DCO).
Responsibilities: Coordinate and develop efficient administrative systems for the Associate Vice-President's Office, including correspondence follow-up, drafting communications, and managing briefing files. Oversee the administrative team, promote new work methods, and manage the office budget, monitoring status and utilization. Coordinate the Associate Vice-President's calendar, meetings, missions,
and high-level visitor appointments. Provide support for the office's programme of work, budget, and strategic workforce plan. Play a key role in planning, managing, and delivering the departmental work plan and budget, including formulation, monitoring, and oversight. Prepare analytical reports and inputs for corporate documents. Monitor progress towards departmental targets and act as an agent of change by managing and promoting acceptance of change. Manage IFAD resources with integrity and transparency, coordinate the administrative support team, and foster a positive work environment. Ensure knowledge content is updated and best practices are shared.
Education: Advanced university degree in international relations, management, business administration, international development, economics, or a related field.
