Senior Python & AI Backend Developer (Freelance) — Milan area We're looking for a senior Python backend developer to join a freelance project through Shakers, hybrid in the Milan area (2 days/week on-site in Segrate). What you'll work on: Backend services in Python + Fast API Llama Index and Gemini for retrieval-augmented generation Postgre SQL (pgvector + full-text search) and Redis as the data layer What we're looking for: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field 3+ years of backend development experience with Python and Fast API Hands-on experience with Llama Index and Gemini Experience with Postgre SQL (pgvector + FTS) and Redis Available 2 days/week on-site in Segrate (Milan area) This is a freelance role via Shakers, a European tech talent marketplace connecting independent professionals with companies across Portugal, Italy, Spain, and the UK.
