For an important project in the Oil & Gas sector, we are looking for a Process Flow Assurance Engineer to join the PMC team in Milan.
The role will be responsible for providing technical oversight, verification and assurance of flow assurance activities related to offshore wellhead platforms (WHPs) and subsea production systems, ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient transportation of hydrocarbons across subsea and topside systems.

Main responsibilities:
- Act as PMC focal point for flow assurance design and verification activities across FEED, EPC and commissioning phases.
- Review and technically verify steady-state and transient flow assurance studies performed by EPC contractors.
- Assess production system performance, pressure-temperature envelopes and flow regime predictions.
- Review pipeline and riser sizing, insulation and heating system design.
- Evaluate hydrate, wax, asphaltene, corrosion and erosion risks and related mitigation strategies.
- Review PFDs, P&IDs; and process control logic, ensuring proper flow assurance integration.
- Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, PSSR, Model Reviews, FAT and SAT activities.
- Review operational strategies for start-up, shutdown, pigging, depressurization and chemical injection.
- Evaluate chemical injection philosophies, including MEG, methanol and corrosion inhibitors.
- Support interfaces between subsea, pipeline and topside engineering disciplines.
- Monitor EPC contractor progress and compliance with project specifications, quality, HSE and schedule requirements.
- Support risk assessment and mitigation of flow assurance-related production issues.
- Provide technical input to commissioning, early production testing and operational readiness reviews.
- Ensure completeness of flow assurance documentation for project handover and operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Petroleum or Process Engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in Flow Assurance or Process Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a PMC or Operator environment, providing technical assurance and EPC contractor oversight.
- Proven experience with offshore and subsea production systems.
- Hands-on experience with OLGA and/or PIPESIM for steady-state and transient analysis.
- Strong knowledge of multiphase flow, slugging dynamics and thermal-hydraulic design.
- Solid expertise in hydrate, wax and asphaltene management.
- Experience with subsea pipelines, risers and topside integration.
- Knowledge of insulation, DEH and active thermal management systems.
- Familiarity with chemical dosing systems and slug catcher design.
- Knowledge of relevant international standards, including API 17A, ISO 13628 and DNV-ST-F101/F119.
- Ability to interpret PVT,
wax appearance temperature and hydrate laboratory data and apply it to flow assurance simulations.
- Experience in commissioning and operation of subsea pipeline and riser systems.
- Strong communication and technical coordination skills, with the ability to interface with EPC contractors, consultants, engineering disciplines and Client/Operator technical authorities.
- BOSIET/FOET and valid offshore medical certification are considered a plus.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
The salary for this role ranges from €40.000 to €50.000
The position is governed by the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for the Commerce and Tertiary Sector applied by our company.
The final salary within the stated range will be determined based on the candidate's technical skills, relevant experience in the role, and the outcome of the selection process, using objective and neutral criteria.
In exceptional cases, where a candidate's profile significantly exceeds the requirements associated with the stated salary range, a review of the compensation may be considered, subject to internal approval.
