About the Role
As Head of Maintenance, you will be responsible for the management and supervision of all maintenance activities across the property, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the hotel's facilities, equipment and technical systems.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent organizational and leadership skills, together with a strong focus on safety, energy efficiency and the quality of the guest experience.
You will plan and coordinate preventive, routine and extraordinary maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with company standards and all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all hotel facilities and systems are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency and reliability.
- Oversee the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and technical systems, as well as kitchen equipment, safety systems and fire protection systems.
- Plan, supervise and monitor preventive, routine and extraordinary maintenance programmes.
- Conduct regular inspections and coordinate all necessary repair and maintenance activities.
- Monitor the daily performance of the hotel's technical systems, promoting energy-efficiency initiatives and effective consumption management.
- Maintain and ensure strict compliance with the hotel's preventive maintenance plan.
- Lead, train, develop and motivate the Maintenance team.
- Coordinate and supervise external suppliers and contractors, ensuring high-quality standards and full compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead energy-efficiency and environmental sustainability initiatives, monitoring consumption, optimizing resources and implementing solutions aimed at reducing the hotel's environmental impact.
- Ensure effective management of maintenance costs and regularly monitor expenditure and performance.
- Monitor and control the inventory of materials, equipment and spare parts.
- Manage regulatory deadlines and coordinate inspections by the relevant authorities, including ASL, INAIL, the Fire Brigade and other competent bodies.
- Ensure the proper management and continuous updating of all technical documentation related to the hotel's systems and infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to maintain high service standards and ensure an excellent guest experience.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within medium to large hotels or luxury hospitality environments.
- Strong technical expertise in building systems, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing and general maintenance.
- Excellent planning, organizational and priority-management skills, with a strong focus on follow-up and timely completion of activities.
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing operational teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to service quality.
- Good command of the English language.
- Strong guest focus and ability to respond quickly and effectively to technical issues that may impact the guest experience.
Compensation & Benefits
- RAL: €35,000 to €45,000, based on experience
