About SerlinoLab

We're SerlinoLab — a fast-growing Italian skincare brand for men, formulated in an Italian lab and sold DTC online across Italy and the US.

That combination is rare: Italian brand craft and real product heritage, paired with US-scale DTC growth. We're a startup in every sense — we move fast, we stay flexible, and we're growing 700% year over year.

- 200,000+ satisfied customers
- Best seller on Amazon Italy in our category
- 4.5 average on Trustpilot with 1,000+ reviews
- 30%+ of customers come back and buy again
- On track to reach €30M this year
- Bootstrapped and profitable — no investors, no board. Decisions are made by two founders, fast.

About the Role Our lab has an R&D; team — and this year, our Supply Chain function took on the project management of getting a product from brief to shelf. What we're missing is someone who owns the formulation and compliance call itself: the person who decides what actually goes into a product, and why.

This is a formulation-first role. You'll sit as the technical authority between our business and our Italian lab — confirming ingredient lists and formula details, making the call on actives and concentrations, and reviewing raw testing feedback to turn it into formulation direction the lab's R&D; team can act on. Supply Chain owns the timeline, coordinates packaging, and drives the steps to market; you make sure what ships is right, and that it's legally sellable in every market we're in.

This is a startup, and the role doesn't come with a fixed playbook for how formulation and compliance decisions get made here — it comes with the mandate to be the expert voice on both. We're open to this as a fractional engagement or a full-time role, depending on what the right person has capacity for.

Accountable For

- Ingredient and formula sign-off, and the technical rationale behind it

- Compliance status across the Italy/EU and US markets
- Formulation quality and consistency across every active SKU
- Turning raw testing feedback into clear, actionable direction for the lab's R&D; team
- Accuracy of ingredient documentation (INCI lists, safety data, technical specs)

Core Responsibilities You will be responsible for:

- Deciding what goes into every formula and why — selecting and approving actives, ingredients, and concentrations based on efficacy, safety, cost, and brand positioning.
- Confirming ingredient lists and formula details with the lab's R&D; team before anything moves further down the pipeline.
- Owning compliance — ingredient documentation, labeling, and regulatory requirements across both the Italian/EU and US markets.
- Reviewing feedback from our human testing programme and translating it into clear, actionable formulation direction for the lab's R&D; team. (Supply Chain runs the logistics of the testing programme itself — finding testers, scheduling, collection — you own what the feedback means for the formula.)
- Acting as the technical point of contact between the lab and the business on formulation matters — you make the call and can defend it, without needing to run the surrounding project.
- Verifying that ingredient and formula information in tech packs and specs is accurate, so Supply Chain can reproduce a product exactly to spec.
- Staying current on cosmetic/skincare ingredient trends and regulatory change across our markets.

Who You Are

- This opportunity is ideal for someone with meaningful,

hands-on experience in cosmetic/skincare formulation and an extensive track record in the beauty sector specifically — creams, soaps, or fragrances.
- You know ingredients cold — actives, concentrations, stability, sourcing trade-offs — and you can defend a formulation decision on its merits.
- You understand cosmetic/skincare compliance requirements in the EU and US, or you can get up to speed fast — this is a requirement, not a nice-to-have, given you'll own it outright.
- You're comfortable being the technical authority between an external lab and the internal business — confident enough to make the call, and to push back on the lab when a formula isn't right.
- You can take raw, messy feedback (from testers, from the lab) and turn it into a clear formulation decision — you don't need someone else to do that translation for you.
- You're happy owning the "what and why" of product development without owning the "how and when" — this isn't a project management role, and you won't be chasing timelines or coordinating stakeholders across the pipeline.
- You work independently and communicate clearly. You'll report to the COO (who can assist you), but you're expected to own your function.
- Must speak fluent English

Nice To Haves

- Italian language skills — a real advantage given how much of this role runs through our Italian lab.
- Formal background in cosmetic or skincare regulatory affairs.
- Experience formulating specifically for a DTC or eCommerce brand.
- Prior experience as a fractional or consulting formulation specialist.

Work Eligibility & Location This role is remote and open to both fractional and full-time arrangements, with the appointment made on an independent contractor basis.

What We Offer

- Competitive compensation, structured to fit fractional or full-time availability
- Fully remote role with flexible working hours
- Work with a fast-growing, international DTC brand
- Collaborative, supportive team culture
