The Expediter is responsible for monitoring purchase order progress and supplier performance to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment. Acting as the primary interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders, the role proactively identifies potential delays, coordinates mitigation actions,
and maintains visibility over the status of critical orders throughout the procurement and manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor supplier progress against purchase order milestones to ensure materials are manufactured, inspected, released, and delivered according to project schedules.
Perform supplier expediting activities through regular follow-up meetings, status collection, manufacturing progress verification, and proactive identification of delivery risks.
Review suppliers' manufacturing and delivery schedules, anticipating potential bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
Coordinate with Procurement, Project Management, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics teams to align priorities and ensure effective cross-functional communication.
Monitor supplier performance, providing regular updates and escalation reports to Supply Chain Management.
