Forward Deployed Engineer
Pubblicato il 03-10-2026 - Duferco in Italia
We are expanding Duferco’s Corporate Innovation Team: a fast-moving team operating in a startup-like environment, backed by the stability and scale of a global diversified group.
We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer : someone who works close to business teams, understands messy operational problems, and turns AI, data, and automation into practical solutions.
You will work across domains such as energy, trading, logistics, steel, insurance, sports, and other sectors — not as an external consultant, but as part of the group itself, with the ownership and continuity of an internal product and engineering team.
You will identify opportunities, prototype AI-enabled tools, evaluate impact, and help deploy solutions that remove bottlenecks, improve decision-making, and create leverage across the business.
About the Team
We sit close to real business problems and have the freedom to prototype and ship quickly. AI is already part of our daily workflow, and we expect that role to keep expanding.
We care about building things that work in the real world: useful tools,
reliable automations, better workflows, and systems that create measurable impact.
We appreciate people who enjoy ownership, fast iteration, pragmatic problem solving, and working directly with users to understand how things actually get done.
What You’ll Do
Design and build AI-enabled solutions that make the organization faster and smarter:
-
- AI applications, agents, and automation workflows for real business processes
- Data analysis, decision-support tools, and internal analytics workflows
- Retrieval, document intelligence, structured outputs, and knowledge systems
- Prototypes that test whether AI can create real operational value
- Integrations with internal tools, databases, APIs, documents, and third-party systems
- Evaluation and monitoring approaches to understand whether AI systems are working as intended
You’ll work directly with business and technical teams to understand problems, id
