It combines the proven reliability of superconducting circuits with a breakthrough approach to qubit control, paving the way for quantum computers capable of solving the world’s most challenging problems. /ppWe are seeking abQuantum Design Engineer /bto support the design and optimization of superconducting qubits and quantum circuit architectures. /ph3bWhat You'll be doing /b /h3ullipDesign superconducting qubits, couplers, and quantum circuits for scalable quantum processors /p /lilipDevelop and optimize qubit architectures with respect to coherence, frequency crowding, control, and readout /p /lilipPerform electromagnetic and circuit-level simulations (participation ratios, loss channels, mode analysis) /p /lilipAnalyze sensitivity to fabrication tolerances and process variations /p /lilipDefine design rules that balance performance with manufacturability and yield /p /lilipSupport the experimental team by interpreting measurement data and feeding results back into design iterations /p /lilipContribute to system-level architectural choices (connectivity, coupling schemes, control simplification) /p /lilipDocument designs, simulations, and design rationale for internal and external use /p /li /ulh3bRequirements /b /h3ullipPhD or MSc in Physics, Applied Physics,
Electrical Engineering, or related field /p /lilipProficiency with EM and circuit simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, Sonnet, COMSOL, or equivalent) /p /lilipBackground in superconducting qubit physics and circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED) /p /lilipSolid understanding of decoherence mechanisms and materials loss in superconducting devices /p /lilipHands-on experience designing superconducting quantum circuits /p /lilipAbility to connect theoretical models with experimental constraints /p /li /ulpEvery job has its challenges, and this one is no exception.
