/ppResponsible for leading breastfeeding classes for expecting mothers.
/ppAdvises physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients.
/ppRelies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
/ppPerforms a variety of tasks.
/ppWorks under general supervision.
/ppA certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
/ppTypically reports to a supervisor and/or manager.
/ppProvides all staff education to meet the requirements for baby friendly designation.
/ppThe Lactation Consultant utilizes evidenced based knowledge to promote breastfeeding and to support breastfeeding families.
/ppThe Lactation Consultant serves the following age groups on a regular basis: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents,
