Department Intro
Process and Device Technology Development (PDTD) is a core R&D; organization within Micron's Technology Development group responsible for developing the next generation of semiconductor memory technologies.
The team drives innovation in process integration, device architecture, materials, characterization, modeling, and reliability for NAND products.
Working closely with design, manufacturing, product engineering, and research partners, PDTD enables the technologies that become Micron's future memory products.
Position Overview
The mission of a device engineer working in Process and Device Technology Development team at Micron Technology Inc. is analyzing, modeling and improving the device electrical characteristics for the next generation NAND technologies in order to meet the performance and reliability specs required for NAND products within project timelines.
Responsibilities
Contribute to device characterization and modeling for next generation NAND technologies.
Define and execute new test flows to measure critical array electrical characteristics and define automatic electrical monitors for volume production.
Understand NAND cell physics and array-devices operations algorithms, performance and reliability requirements.
Build physical models of new cells array electrical evidence collaborating with TCAD team.
Have cross-functional interactions to address device/array deficiencies with design/process/device teams.
Contribute to performance projections for next generation NAND technologies, based on data modeling, to grant competitiveness.
Generate detailed reports and documentation of the activity with structured summaries for engineer review.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree (currently pursuing or recently graduated) in Electronics Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field.
Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and processes.
Good understanding of simple CMOS circuits.
Good understanding of statistics.
Coding skills to create and run automated test flows to characterize and model array properties.
Typical platform/languages: Python, JMP.
Problem solving and driving for results attitude.
A strong attitude to work on cross-functional teams
Solid communication and reporting abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of or experience with NAND memories.
Attitude to utilize artificial intelligence.
For internships positions in Italy, Micron could pay Eur 900 – Eur **** per month, and will grant, in addition meal vouchers for each day worked onsite.
The internship allowance is determined based on the highest level of education already completed at the start of the internship, regardless of gender and of any other factor protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
For working students positions in Germany Micron estimates it could pay from 15 Eur (gross) per hour.
The exact amount is determined based on education and level of experience.
