h3Position description /h3 pThe successful candidate will be responsible for upgrading and optimizing the ion microprobe setup at RBI, which utilizes dual microprobe and a suite of Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) techniques for the elemental analysis and imaging of energy storage materials, with the focus on detection of light elements and monitoring of electrochemical processes.
/p pThe research will be conducted primarily at the accelerator facility of the Ru?er Boškovi? institute (RBI) managed by the Laboratory for ion beam interactions, Experimental physics division of RBI in Zagreb, Croatia.
Part of the experimental work will be done at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, partner facility within the CERIC-ERIC consortium.
/p h3Qualifications and other requirements /h3 pWe require a Master or equivalent degree in physics.
The successful candidate should have a degree in physics and have obligation to enroll to a PhD studies in physics.
Therefore, the candidates should have GPA not lower than 80% of the maximum possible, i.e. to allow direct enrolment to the PhD studies.
/p pSpecifically, the ideal candidate should have: /p ul liExperience with experimental physics practices and methodologies; /li liFluent English, both written and spoken, is essential (minimum B2 level),



and knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
/li /ul h3Additional Qualifications /h3 ul liKnowledge and experience in the application of Ion Beam Analysis techniques; /li liKnowledge about material analysis; /li liExperience in programming (i.e. Python, MATLAB, etc.).
/li /ul h3The following competencies are considered a plus /h3 ul liStrong affinity for experimental work; /li liCapacity for independent and creative approach in solving tasks; /li liInterpersonal and collaboration skills for work in the interdisciplinary team.
