Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement embedded software and system components primarily using MATLAB, C, and C++ tailored for Optical Line System development.
- Develop and maintain Device Abstraction and Hardware Abstraction Layers to interface with protocols and devices such as I2C, SPI, MDIO, EEPROMs, sensors, optical pluggables, and other optical components.
- Lead control system software development for EDFA and Raman amplifiers, including gain control algorithms, Automatic Power Control (APC), Automatic Gain Control (AGC), power balancing, alarm monitoring, safety shutdowns, and protection switching mechanisms.
- Support the development and enhancement of ROADM and line system functionalities, involving spectrum allocation, path computation, flexgrid provisioning, and dynamic real-time network reconfiguration.
- Create and optimize software for optical pluggables focusing on CMIS/SFF interface support, DDM/DOM monitoring, module state management, firmware upgrade processes, and power class regulation.
- Contribute to optical topology modeling, including impairment-aware routing algorithms and advanced optical power management solutions to improve network performance and resilience.
