We are currently hiring a Oracle ERP Finance Functional Consultant for an exciting client engagement.

Oracle ERP Finance Functional Consultant

Location: Milan Italy (5 Days Onsite)

Positions: Permanent/Contract

Languages: English and Italian

Role Overview

- We are looking for an experienced Oracle ERP Finance Functional Consultant with strong expertise across Oracle Finance and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) to support ERP implementation, transformation, migration, and business process initiatives in Italy.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Finance business processes, hands-on experience in Oracle ERP implementations and migrations, and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders in Italy.
- This is a highly business-facing functional role. The consultant will be responsible for engaging with Finance and business users, understanding and documenting requirements, facilitating workshops, driving solution discussions, obtaining business approvals, and translating business needs into Oracle ERP functional solutions.
- The candidate should be comfortable working independently with Italian business stakeholders and collaborating with global IT, functional, technical, and implementation teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Business Engagement & Requirements
- Act as the primary functional point of contact for Finance and PPM business stakeholders in Italy.
- Conduct workshops and discussions with business users to understand current processes, pain points, requirements, and future-state needs.
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Translate business requirements into Oracle ERP functional solutions.
- Challenge existing processes where appropriate and recommend Oracle-standard or optimized business processes.
- Facilitate discussions between business stakeholders and technical/IT teams.
- Prepare and maintain requirements documentation, process flows, functional specifications, and solution documents.
- Drive requirement sign-offs and obtain necessary business approvals.

Oracle Finance Functional Responsibilities Provide functional expertise across Oracle ERP Finance modules, including:

o General Ledger (GL)

o Accounts Payable (AP)

o Accounts Receivable (AR)

o Fixed Assets (FA)

o Cash Management o Tax o Intercompany o Financial reporting o Period close and reconciliation processes

- Understand end-to-end Finance processes and their integration with other ERP modules.
- Define and validate functional configurations and business process solutions.
- Support functional design, testing, defect resolution, deployment, and post-go-live activities.

Oracle PPM Responsibilities

- Strong understanding of Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM) processes and functionality.





Experience with areas such as: o Project Costing o Project Billing o Project Accounting o Project Management o Project Contracts o Project budgeting and forecasting o Project expenditure processing

- Understand the integration between PPM and core Finance processes.
- Work with business teams to define and validate project accounting and project financial requirements.

ERP Implementation & Migration Participate in and/or lead Oracle ERP implementation and transformation projects.

Experience working through the full ERP implementation lifecycle, including:

o Requirement gathering o Fit-gap analysis o Solution design o Configuration o Data migration o Testing o User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

o Cutover o Go-live o Hypercare/support

- Support Finance and PPM data migration activities, including data mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and business sign-off.
- Coordinate with technical/data migration teams to ensure successful migration of Finance and project-related data.
- Support legacy-to-Oracle process and data transition activities.

Testing & Deployment

- Develop and review functional test scenarios and test cases.
- Coordinate UAT with Italian business stakeholders.
- Track and resolve functional issues and defects.
- Support business users during testing and provide clarification on Oracle functionality.
- Coordinate business readiness and obtain UAT/sign-off approvals.
- Support cutover and go-live activities.

Stakeholder & Project Management

- Work closely with Finance leadership, business process owners, SMEs, IT teams, system integrators, and project managers.
- Manage discussions with senior stakeholders and communicate complex functional topics clearly.
- Track open requirements, decisions, dependencies, risks, and actions.
- Ensure timely closure of business decisions and approvals.
- Represent the Finance/PPM functional workstream in project meetings and governance forums.

Required Skills &Experience;

- 12+ years of experience in Oracle ERP Finance functional consulting.
- Strong experience in Oracle ERP implementation and/or transformation projects.
- Proven experience in ERP migrations, particularly Finance-related data and processes.
- Strong functional expertise in Oracle Finance.
- Good hands-on knowledge of Oracle PPM.
- Experience across both Finance and PPM is essential.




- Strong understanding of end-to-end Finance business processes.
- Experience in requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, functional design, testing, UAT, migration, and go-live.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders and process owners.
- Strong experience in conducting business workshops and documenting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to drive business approvals and sign-offs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of functional deliverables.
- Experience working in large, complex, multinational ERP programs is preferred.

Italy / Language Requirements

- Strong Italian language skills are mandatory, with the ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders in Italy.
- Professional-level English communication skills are required for interaction with global project and IT teams.
- Strong understanding of the Italian business environment and Finance processes is highly desirable.
- Candidates with prior experience delivering Oracle ERP projects for Italian organizations will be preferred.

Preferred Experience

- Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite and/or Oracle Fusion is preferred.
- Experience in Oracle Finance + PPM integration.
- Experience with Finance data migration and reconciliation.
- Experience in multinational ERP rollouts.
- Experience working with system integrators or global transformation programs.
- Knowledge of Italian statutory/localization requirements is an advantage.
- Experience in Agile or hybrid ERP delivery environments is a plus.

- The ideal candidate is not just an Oracle functional specialist but a strong business-facing consultant who can sit with Finance stakeholders in Italy, understand their business processes and challenges, independently drive requirement discussions, translate those requirements into Oracle solutions, and take them through validation, testing, and formal business approval.
- The person should be comfortable acting as the bridge between Italian business stakeholders and global Oracle/IT delivery teams, while bringing strong hands-on knowledge of both Finance and PPM.

Education

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Relevant Oracle certifications are an advantage.
