Backup Administrator

I have a client based in Milan where 2 days a week onsite are required who are looking for an experienced Backup Administrator who is fluent in Italian for a 12 month contract with a day rate of €230 on offer

Key Responsibilities

- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Backup and Disaster Recovery environments based on the following technologies:

- Veeam Backup & Replication 12/13 (VM-level backups, agent-based backups, container environments via Kasten, Veeam Cloud Connect);

- VMware vCloud Availability (vCAv);

- VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM);

- Zerto.

- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Deduplication Storage Systems (e.g., Dell Data Domain, HPE StoreOnce, etc.).

- Participation in an on-call support rotation.

- Managing and maintaining technical documentation related to assigned activities.

- Handling communications in English with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

- Proven experience managing complex Enterprise and/or Service Provider environments.

- Strong knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication.





- Good knowledge of VMware vCloud Availability (vCAv).

- Good knowledge of VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).

- Good knowledge of Zerto.

- Good knowledge of PowerShell scripting.

- Good knowledge of VMware ESXi/vCloud environments, including template management, datastore mapping and administration, and virtual machine provisioning and management.

- Good knowledge of Windows operating systems.

- Basic knowledge of Linux environments is considered a plus.

- Broad experience and cross-functional knowledge of Enterprise technologies, including networking, storage, databases, and related infrastructure components.

- Strong commitment to continuous professional development, learning, and exploring new technical domains.

- Ability to work independently and effectively manage tasks and projects.

- Strong teamwork skills.

- Proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented mindset.
