The Design Engineer supports the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of hydraulic rotary actuator products and related components. This role is intended for an engineer in the early stages of their career who is building technical depth in hydraulic systems, mechanical design, product performance, and manufacturability.
Support the design and development of hydraulic rotary actuators, housings, shafts, seals, bearings, stops, and related mechanical components.
Create and revise 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation in accordance with applicable standards and internal procedures.
Prepare and maintain bill of materials, engineering change orders, specifications,
and release packages.
Assist in performing design calculations for torque, pressure containment, stress, fatigue, deflection, sealing, and tolerance stack-up.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and design verification activities.
Support prototype build, test planning, data collection, and test result analysis for product validation and performance characterisation.
Investigate product or process issues using structured root cause and corrective action methods.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to improve design for manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, and cost.
Work with suppliers and internal teams to support component selection, material evaluation, and technical issue resolution.
Support compliance with quality, safety, regulatory, and customer-specific requirements.
