Overview

In Nokia's Microwave R&D organization in Vimercate, you will define test strategies for validating next-gen microwave transport solutions powering 5G and critical networks worldwide. As Microwave Integration & Test Engineer, you collaborate with system architects, software and firmware teams to ensure quality across the development lifecycle. You will lead automation initiatives, develop Python-based frameworks, and apply AI-driven testing to improve coverage and accelerate defect analysis. This role suits experienced testers who want to shape cutting-edge microwave and wireless systems and drive testing innovation.

Responsabilità

- Define and execute comprehensive verification and validation strategies
- Design and maintain complex test environments and automated test benches
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation frameworks
- Utilize AI-powered tools to improve test coverage and validation effectiveness




- Drive the transformation from traditional testing approaches toward AI-assisted testing methodologies
- Analyze system behavior, protocol traces, logs, and performance metrics
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex issues
- Collaborate with software, firmware, hardware, and system teams
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices
- Contribute to the evolution of testing processes and engineering methodologies

Requisiti fondamentali

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Experience in system integration, testing, networking, telecommunications, or software validation
- Strong Python scripting and automation skills
- Knowledge of IP networking and Ethernet technologies
- Structured and analytical problem-solving approach
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
