this is an opportunity to join a business that continues to set the standard for complex engineering project delivery across the continent.Kirby Group Engineering is seeking an ambitious and commercially astute Project Quantity Surveyor to join a flagship data centre project in Milan. You'll play a key role in managing the commercial performance of the project from early delivery stages through to final account, working alongside experienced commercial, operational and project delivery teams.This is a role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, influencing commercial outcomes and being part of a team delivering critical infrastructure at the highest level.The RoleAs Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for maximising the commercial performance of the project while ensuring contractual obligations are effectively managed.Working closely with the Commercial Manager and project delivery teams, you will oversee cost control, subcontractor management, valuations, forecasting, reporting and change management throughout the project lifecycle.This is a hands‑on role where your commercial judgement, attention to detail and ability to build strong relationships will directly contribute to project success.Key ResponsibilitiesManage commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to final accountPrepare budgets, cost reports, forecasts, BOQs and profit plansProduce accurate commercial reporting and provide detailed project updates to senior stakeholdersManage subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments and final accountsEnsure all subcontractor accounts are administered in accordance with agreed contractual termsPrepare and submit interim valuations, applications for payment and final account submissionsManage remeasurement activities, variations, compensation events, dayworks and change ordersIdentify and commercially manage project change throughout the construction lifecycleMonitor labour and material cost movements and identify potential commercial impactsSupport contract administration and ensure compliance with client requirementsWork closely with planning and project teams to ensure accurate progress reporting and forecastingMaintain accurate cost records and commercial documentationIdentify commercial risks and ensure they are escalated appropriately with recommended mitigation strategiesSupport negotiations with clients, consultants and subcontractors as requiredAssist in driving cash flow performance and commercial outcomes across the projectContribute to project reviews, forecasting exercises and commercial strategy discussionsWhat We're Looking ForDegree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related disciplinePrevious experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor within construction, engineering, MEP or data centre environmentsStrong understanding of contract administration and commercial management processesExperience managing subcontractor accounts and payment applicationsKnowledge of variations, claims, final accounts and change management proceduresStrong commercial awareness and financial acumenExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within a project teamStrong organisational skills and attention to detailExperience on large-scale data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or mission‑critical projects would be highly advantageousWhat's On OfferOpportunity to work on a landmark data centre project in MilanCompetitive salary and benefits packageStructured career development and progression opportunitiesExposure to major international clients and projectsOngoing professional and leadership developmentSupportive and collaborative working environmentLong-term opportunities within a rapidly growing European businessInterested?If you're looking for a role where you can take ownership, develop your commercial expertise and contribute to the successful delivery of one of Europe's most significant data centre projects, we'd love to hear from you.Join Kirby Group Engineering and be part of a team delivering the infrastructure that powers the digital world. xysqume For more information on this role, or other Construction / Engineering opportunities across Ireland, the UK, Europe, or South Africa please review our careers page (Vacancies - Kirby Group Careers) or contact the Talent Acquisition Team at Kirby Group in confidence on Kirby Group Engineering is an equal opportunities employer.
