Join Nokia’s Microwave R&D; organization in Vimercate and contribute to the validation of next-generation microwave transport solutions supporting 5G and critical communication networks across the world. As a Microwave Integration & Test Engineer, you will play a key role in defining test strategies, driving automation initiatives, and ensuring product quality throughout the development lifecycle. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including system architects, software developers, firmware engineers, and product experts.
An important aspect of this role is the adoption of AI-driven testing methodologies. You will leverage Artificial Intelligence to improve test coverage, optimize validation strategies, accelerate defect analysis, and enhance Python-based automation frameworks. This opportunity is ideal for engineers with several years of experience in testing, networking, telecommunications, software integration, or automation who are looking to work on cutting-edge technologies. How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
- Define and execute comprehensive verification and validation strategies.
- Design and maintain complex test environments and automated test benches.
- Develop and maintain Python-based automation frameworks.
- Utilize AI-powered tools to improve test coverage and validation effectiveness.
- Drive the transformation from traditional testing approaches toward AI-assisted testing methodologies.
- Analyze system behavior, protocol traces, logs, and performance metrics.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis activities for complex issues.
- Collaborate with software, firmware, hardware, and system teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous evolution of testing processes and engineering methodologies.
Key Skills And Experience Must have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Experience in system integration, testing, networking, telecommunications, or software validation.
- Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
- Knowledge of IP networking and Ethernet technologies.
- Structured and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to have:
- Experience with microwave or wireless communication systems.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks.
- Experience with Linux environments.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development and testing tools.
- Familiarity with network management solutions and telecom architectures.
