/b /p pFor full time positions ,University Hospitals is offering ab $3,000 sign on premio /b to external applicants that are non-certified, but have a minimum of 6 months of working sterile processing experience.
A b$5,000 sign on bonu /bs is being offered to external applicants who are certified in sterile processing.
/p pbA Brief Overview /b /p pThe Sterile Processing Technician role is responsible for receiving, sorting, decontaminating, reassembling, packaging, sterilizing, storing and distributing reusable patient care equipment, instrument trays and supplies.
/p pbWhat You Will Do /b /p ul liPicks surgical case carts, stores and distribute reusable patient care equipment, instrument trays and supplies /li liParticipates as a productive member of the O.R. processing team /li liMaintains positive relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers /li liParticipates as a productive member of the perioperative process team /li /ul pbAdditional Responsibilities /b /p ul liPerforms other duties as assigned.
/li liComplies with all policies and standards.
/li liFor specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
/li liMust abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
/li /ul pbEducation /b /p ul liHigh School Equivalent / GED (Required)



/li liGraduate of a Sterile Processing program (Preferred) /li /ul pbWork Experience /b /p ul liPrevious hospital central service instrument decontamination and assembly, inventory or distribution experience (Preferred) /li /ul pbKnowledge, Skills, Abilities /b /p ul liBasic medical terminology (Preferred proficiency) /li liSteam, EtO, Plasma, Peracetic Acid, Dry Heat, and liquid sterilants.
(Required proficiency) /li liKnowledge of: Equipment, sterilizers, washers, instruments, and tray assembly.
(Required proficiency) /li liAttention to details.
(Required proficiency) /li /ul pbLicenses and Certifications /b /p ul liCertification through CBSPD or HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) is bpreferred.
/b /li liIn support of UH's organizational goal to maintain a highly qualified sterile processing workforce, non-certified Sterile Processing Technicians are expected to actively pursue certification within one year of hire and maintain certification once obtained.
