h3Job Description /h3 h3Position Summary /h3 pUnder the direction of the Supervising Clinical Provider, the RN/LPN/Paramedic/EMT/MA provides direct patient care, in the office setting and in the patient home as needed, in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies and procedures of Island Doctors.
/p h3Essential Duties And Responsibilities /h3 pThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: /p ul liInterviews patients and triages each patient with a knowledgeable, confident and timely response.
/li liRecords vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, and weight.
/li liPrepares treatment rooms for examination for patients.
Ensures rooms are clean and well stocked with supplies.
/li liCleans and sterilizes instruments after each use.
/li liInventories and orders medical supplies.
/li liPerforms diagnostic testing such as EKG, Glucose test, INR, Urinalysis and Rapid Strep.
/li liAdminister injections and IV treatments; draws blood for diagnostic testing.
/li liCalls prescriptions into the pharmacy and faxes refill requests back to the pharmacy once approved by the Clinical Provider.
/li liAssists patients over the phone in a timely and professional manner, maintaining patient confidentiality.
/li liAssists Front Office as needed by answering phones, filing charts, scheduling appointments, etc..

/li liPerform other duties as assigned.
/li /ul h3Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities) /h3 ul liActive RN, LPN, Paramedic, EMT or RMA license required.
/li liBLS certification required.
BMO preferred.
/li liAble to manage difficult or emotional situations with patients and/or family members.
/li li1 year of back office experience preferred.
/li liFriendly and compassionate disposition /li liExcellent organizational and time management skills /li liStrong interpersonal communication skills /li liAbility to work independently or as part of a team /li liDedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records /li /ul h3Physical Demands and Work Environment /h3 pThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds.

Visual acuity.
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers,
handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
