**Job Description:**

Leonardo is one of the strategic industrial partners of the GCAP (Global Combat Air Programme), together with the British BAE Systems and the Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, aimed at the development and realization of a new generation aerial system, defined as a “system of systems”. Used for multi-domain operations in the defense sector, the system will feature a “core platform” connected with other peripheral “adjunct” systems, both manned and unmanned.

The program, among the most challenging and futuristic for the aerospace and defense industry, will drive the technological revolution that will characterize the sector in the next fifty years. A challenge aimed at strengthening the technological and industrial sovereignty of the countries involved, because it aims to identify and make available those innovative, enabling technologies that will ensure the generational leap, generating positive returns and economic and social progress for the entire country system, benefiting new generations.

Within the Digital Systems & Engineering Technologies area of the Cyber Division, we are looking for a **Digital Engineering Lead** for one of our offices in Rome, Turin, and Milan Nerviano.

The selected candidate will coordinate the Digital Engineering Team for a specific international program and, in particular, will support:

* Coordination of activities, nationally and internationally, for reference programs, which include: * Collection of functional and non-functional requirements * Definition of the target application architecture based on national/international requirements and constraints in collaboration with Leonardo's D⁢ and Security entities * Selection of software technologies in collaboration with Leonardo's business units as well as other companies/entities that may be involved * Ability to analyze and formalize business requirements with knowledge in specific areas of Digital Engineering * Ability to coordinate heterogeneous teams within digital engineering, across different corporate functions, as well as potentially other entities/companies * Planning and drafting of business cases * Cost control and risk management * Project coordination/leadership * Problem solving (possibly also in an international context)

**Requirements:**

**_Education_:**

Degree in one of the STEM disciplines, preferably Aerospace, Mechanics, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer Science.

**_Seniority:_**

Senior (>5 years in the Digital Engineering domain)

**_Technical knowledge and skills:_**

* Excellent knowledge of Business processes in Engineering and good knowledge in Manufacturing and Customer Support * Knowledge of methodologies and enabling technologies for PLM, MBSE, CAD, and CAE * Ability to analyze Business processes * Ability to define technical/functional requirements for system implementation * Project Management skills * Ability to interpret and analyze IT application architectures (HPC and Cloud are a plus)

**_Behavioral skills:_**

* Good analytical skills and initiative * Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams * Ability to work in international teams * Interpersonal skills and flexibility * Propensity for innovation * Results-oriented

**_Language skills:_**

* Advanced English proficiency (B2–C1 level).

* Windows / Linux / Android operating systems * Ability to use Microsoft Office and Project tools * PLM (Siemens Teamcenter) * Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) like Dassault Cameo or IBM ELM * Requirement Management - IBM Doors or equivalent * CAD/CAE * Systems in Manufacturing (plus) * Systems in Customer Support & Service (plus) * Agile Methodologies (plus) * SecDevOps (plus)

**How does the selection process work?**

Following the collection of applications, CVs most aligned with the required qualifications are evaluated and identified.

Selected candidates undergo an introductory interview with the Human Resources team, motivational and aptitude-based, followed by a technical in-depth interview with the Business.

At the end of the process, feedback is provided to the person, both in case of a positive or negative outcome.
