As part of the Materials Science & Technology team, you will support laboratory activities related to materials characterization, material data generation, and qualification programs.
This internship offers hands-on experience in metallographic characterization, materials data analysis, test planning, and technical reporting.
You will contribute to the generation, organization, and interpretation of experimental data.
As an intern, you'll be responsible for:
Contributing to the collection, organization, validation, and management of materials data generated through laboratory activities.
Supporting the development of material property databases and engineering datasets for qualification and design purposes.
Assisting in the definition, planning, and tracking of material characterization and testing programs.
Analyzing experimental results and contributing to material curves, technical summaries, and engineering reports.
Interacting with internal teams and external laboratories to coordinate characterization activities and ensure data quality and consistency.
Supporting technology development and material qualification initiatives through data-driven analysis and reporting.
Supporting microstructural characterization of metallic materials using optical microscopy and stereoscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM),



Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS), and Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD).
Operating in compliance with laboratory Quality, Safety, and HSE procedures.
Assist in sample preparation, including sectioning, mounting, polishing, and etching.
Perform mechanical testing on metallic materials according to defined test procedures.
Perform quantitative image analysis for grain size, phase distribution, and precipitate morphology.
Perform failure analysis investigations and root cause assessments under technical guidance.
Contribute to high-temperature microstructural investigations and material characterization activities.
Document experimental activities, analyze data, and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
To be successful in this role you will:
Be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or master's degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (materials-focused), or a related field.
Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent in your country
Have basic knowledge or coursework exposure to metallic materials characterization.
Demonstrate strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Have good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Show curiosity, motivation, and a hands-on approach to laboratory work.
Be able to legally work in the country that you are applying in, without company sponsorship or time restriction.
Through this internship, you will have the opportunity to develop:
Practical experience in metallurgical characterization and microstructural analysis of metallic materials.
Hands-on expertise in optical and electron microscopy techniques, including SEM, EDS, and EBSD.
Knowledge of metallic materials, microstructure-property relationships, and material qualification processes.
Experience in materials data analysis, management, and the generation of engineering datasets and material property curves.
Understanding test planning methodologies and materials characterization programs.




Experience in interpreting experimental results and preparing technical reports.
Familiarity with industrial laboratory practices, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
Exposure to failure analysis and material qualification activities in an industrial environment.
Understanding laboratory quality standards, testing procedures, and safety practices.
Experience working in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
A structured approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Communication and teamwork skills in an international industrial setting.
Awareness of operational efficiency, cost optimization, and service level performance.

The fixed allowance for this position will be between this range: ********** € gross monthly.
