The Team
Cardiac Physiologists at the Royal Hobart Hospital enjoy a collaborative environment, working within a supportive multi-disciplinary team. As well as echocardiography, members of the Cardiac Physiologist team specialise in rhythm management including cardiac device management, and electrophysiology and there is opportunity to work within more than one of these disciplines.
Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all cardiothoracic surgery in Tasmania.
The Role
You will perform high-quality trans-thoracic echocardiograms in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. You will liaise closely with other members of our multi-disciplinary team to support best practice care of our patients. You will find our practice exposes you to a wide range of pathophysiology in adult echocardiography, including structural heart, intensive care and cardiothoracic surgical patients. There is also opportunity to be involved in paediatric, adult congenital and exercise echocardiography.
We operate an after-hours on-call service.
You will need
• Significant experience as a Cardiac Physiologist in the field of echocardiography with a sound knowledge of cardiac physiology including cardiovascular haemodynamics and rhythm interpretation.
• Proven commitment to ongoing professional development and ability to supervise and educate other health professionals and students and a continuing contribution to knowledge in the field of echocardiography.
• You will have ASAR accreditation in cardiac ultrasound or be eligible for ASAR accreditation.
