This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Core Developer - Polkadot Runtime based in Italy.
Join a remote-first global engineering team building foundational infrastructure for the next generation of the internet. In this role, you’ll work on core runtime functionality that underpins a resilient and decentralized blockchain ecosystem. You’ll design and implement cutting-edge protocols used by the network and by teams building applications on top of it. Your work will have a direct impact on core technology while giving you the opportunity to solve complex systems problems alongside experienced engineers. You’ll contribute to open-source projects and collaborate in an environment built around transparency, peer review, and technical excellence.

Accountabilities
- Design and implement cutting-edge protocols and core runtime functionality that support a decentralized blockchain ecosystem.
- Build and maintain foundational protocol components used by the network and by teams developing applications on top of it.
- Develop tooling, abstractions, and infrastructure that make it easier for developers to build reliable and innovative decentralized applications.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to translate technical requirements into effective solutions.
- Contribute to open-source development practices, including participating in peer reviews as both a reviewer and reviewee.
- Take ownership of technical initiatives, work autonomously, and remain accountable for project outcomes.
- Analyze complex systems and contribute to architectural and system design decisions.
