We are seeking aHardware System Engineerto support the development of complex electronic systems within the Defence sector.
The role is responsible for ensuring the fullhardware system engineering flow, with a focus on requirements definition, subsystem architecture, interface specification and the development of the Technical Data Package for assigned projects.
The position operates within a highly technical, multidisciplinary environment and requires close collaboration with internal engineering teams, specialist departments and external partners at national and international level.
What You'll Do (and why it's exciting)Ensuring and maintaining thehardware system engineering workflow, specifically for hardware specification activities.
Acting as theAccountable Ownerfor the development of theTechnical Data Packagerelated to hardware development within the assigned project.
Performingsystem requirements analysis, developing hardware subsystem requirements and architectures, and allocating requirements to hardware units.
Defininginterface requirementsbetween hardware subsystems and hardware units.
Developing detailed hardware unit requirements for specialist hardware engineering teams.
Participating indesign teams, promoting a concurrent engineering approach throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinating external resources (research institutes, universities, specialized companies both in Italy and abroad), defining thescope of supplyand ensuring technical and schedule compliance.
Monitoringhardware engineering process indicatorsrelated to hardware specification activities.
Usingrequirements management toolsandmodel-based system engineering (MBSE)methodologies.
Who We're Looking ForMaster's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications or similar).
4+ years of experience working with complex systems (automotive, avionics, railway also welcome).
Strong Italian and English skills.
Curiosity, drive, and a genuine desire to learn.
Core SkillsSpecific experience inanalog and digital electronics development, and in the design of complex hardware systems, preferably within theDefence sector.
Solid background insystem engineering.
Knowledge ofMIL standardsfor military equipment design, industrial best-practice standards andIEC regulations.
Understanding of technologies and processes associated with hardware development, aligned withdesign-to-cost,time-to-marketand industrialization objectives.
Ability to manage and investigate activities requiringcross-disciplinary knowledge.
Strong predisposition forhardware development project management, including detailed planning.
knowledge ofrequirements capture toolsand architectural definition methodologies.
Strongteam working, communication andproblem-solvingskills.
Experience with international defence standards.
Familiarity with MBSE tools (SysML, Cameo, Capella).
What We OfferSalary range: 48k€-58k€, based on experience.
Permanent contract.
